Hugs & Kisses – Friends For Life

Welcome back!  I have a few things on the go tomorrow and may not have time to work on the As You See It (#343) Speed Challenge and as I have said before, it is one of my favorites.

Can you create a card in 10 minutes or less?  How long do you think it took me?  I’ll let you know at the end.

The challenge is to use Punches, and I selected to play along with a few other challenges when considering my design.  Alphabet (Letter “X) for X’s & O’s; Cupcake Inspirations (#613) for the Colors; and choosing the TGIF (#516) Sketch.

Here is the result:

FRIENDS FOR LIFE – AYSI343 – Alphabet Letter “X” – CIC613 – TGIFC516

The key to creating a quick card is to consider your design, arrange your supplies, have your necessary tools at hand, set the time and have fun.

  1. Cardstock: (8½” x 11”) Coastal Cabana and a Bone Folder.
  2. Designer Series Paper: (12” x 4”) Floral pattern from the Bloom Impressions Designer Series Paper pack, a 2025 Sale-a-bration product.
  3. Coordinating cardstock: (4¼” x 5½”) Petunia Pop and Basic White.
  4. Coordinating cardstock scraps: Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo and Summer Splash.
  5. Punches: Circles – (½”) and (1¼”) and Cross / Plus Sign (1¼”).  All punches are retired.
  6. Sentiment stamp mounted on Clear Block – Love You from the Friends Are For Life stamp set.
  7. Melon Mambo Ink Pad.
  8. Adhesive – Stampin’ Seal

Steps:

  • Cut Cardstock in half for Card Base: (8½” x 5½”) and fold in half, burnishing with the Bone Folder.
  • Trim the Patterned Paper to measure (4” x 5¼”).
  • Trim the Petunia Pop Mat (2⅝” x 4⅛”).
  • Trim the Basic White Panel (2½” x 4”).
  • Punch the Melen Mambo Scrap with the (½”) Circle Punch and frame with the (1¼”) Circle Punch.
  • Punch the Granny Apple Green and Summer Splash scraps with the “X” Punch.
  • Adhere the “X”’s and “O” to the panel.
  • Ink the Sentiment and stamp, lining it up with the bottom “X”.
  • Adhere all layers together.

I set the timer, and it took me about 2.5 minutes.  That didn’t seem right, so I did it again. I was even quicker:

I hope you like it!
