Happy Thursday! A lovely sunny day here this morning and the earliest flowers in my garden are Forsythia and I see little pops of yellow on the bush. A promise of warmer days to come.
That said, today’s combined challenges include: Paper Players (#727) for Claire’s Spring Flowers theme and TGIF (#514) taking inspiration from page 35 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

Bringing it all together, I selected the sketch over at Facebook’s Global Design Project (#486).

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
- The sentiment, Your friendship is the best gift, from the Seaside Wishes stamp set was stamped with Old Olive ink and then the panel was dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
- Cross Strip (1): (4” x 1¼”) Old Olive Linen patterned piece of paper from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper pack.
- Cross Strip (2): (9”) Basic White Baker’s Twine.
- Shape: Circle / Square: (3” x 3”) Daffodil Delight Gingham patterned piece of paper, also from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper pack and Basic White cardstock.
- Using the both the (2¾” x 2¾”) Stitched Square die and the (2½”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set, the shapes were die-cut and adhered together.
- Focal Image – Forsythia Branches: Fussy-cut with Paper Snips, the Floral Branches are also from another patterned piece of paper from the Floral Delight Designer Series Paper pack.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Baker’s Twine was secured with Scotch Tape, and the entire Square/Circle/Floral piece was popped up with Dimensionals.
Such a fresh pretty friendship card.

I do like this, Jolanda! That square of gingham, complete with stitched detailing is gorgeous and provided a real draw into the design. Thanks for joining in with us at The Paper Players. 🙂
