It’s Your Day

I am delighted to be the featured as the Crazy Cousin Guest Designer for Double Trouble this month.

First Up: Double Trouble (#186) 3-2-1 for three colors – Green, Gold and White; two stencils; and one sentiment.Β  The challenge includes a twist – to add a shamrock or two and partner with Try A sketch on Tuesday (#665).

Three complimentary challenges: Festive Friday (#179) with a slew of options and I picked Watercolor, Green, Gold, and Cloverleafs along with Just Us Girls (#764) who wants us to use stencils and this month’s Green Colorful Options (March) suggestion.

Here is the result:

PENCILED PEAR – PICK A SEASON – DT186 – TSOT665 – FF0179 – JUGS764 – COC March 2025

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5” x 7”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper trimmed to (4” x 5¼”) when painting was complete.
    • The Watercolor Paper was taped down to my working surface, the Stampin’ Glass Mat, available On-Line.
    • Using the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush, water was added to the entire piece of Watercolor Paper.
    • Lemon Lime Twist, Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce inks added to Stampin’ Blocks were picked up with the Paint Brush and added to the Watercolor Paper allowing the colors to mingle.
    • The Diamond Square Grid patterned Stencil from the retired Foursquare Decorative Masks set was placed over the wet paint and using a Paper Towel, the excess color was picked up leaving the pattern behind.
    • Before the colors could mingle again, I dried the Panel with the Heat Tool.
  • Accent Mat: (2⅝” x 3β…œβ€) Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (3” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using a Potted Plant Stencil from Show Off Tri-Flex Stencils #2474831 (in my Stash) and Sponge Daubers, Shaded Spruce ink was added to the Leaves and Versamark ink was added to the Pot.
    • Gold Embossing Powder was added to the Pot and heat-set with the Heat Tool.
  • Sentiment Label: Shaded Spruce cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, It’s You Day, from the Penciled Pear stamp set and the Tiny Shamrocks image from the Pick A Season Sale-a-bration 2025 stamp set, were also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base using the mirror image of the sketch.  Three pieces of White Baker’s Twine were added completing the card and the Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.

What fun to play around with Stencils and using different Techniques.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
