Welcome back! Happy Sunday. Here’s hoping you have a fantastic day.
The other day I was having a look through my stash of retired stamp sets. Do you keep yours or do you move them along? Anyway, one of my favorites are those fun little birds in the Feathery Friends stamp set and I discovered that the Pick a Pennant stamp set had never been inked. How did that happen?
Over at Atlantic Hearts (#618), the sketch was ideal for the Pennant Banners and over at Facebook’s Global Design Project (#485), the colors were a fun combination for a stylized Parakeet. So, I created a clean and simple card to play with these stamp sets.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock.
- Accent Mat: (5¼” x 4”) Garden Green cardstock.
- Card Front: (5⅛” x 3⅞”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Rounded Pennant image was stamped twice with Daffodil Delight ink and both the Spotted In-Fill image and the Striped In-Fill image were stamped over the Pennants with Garden Green ink.
- The Triangle Pennant image was stamped with Granny Apple Green ink and the Cross Hatch in-Fill image was stamped over, also with Garden Green ink.
- The Bird and the Sentiment (same stamp set) were stamped with Garden Green ink.
- The Bird was colored with both the Light Granny Apple and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers. Additionally, I got out my Garden Green Stampin’ Write Marker to darken the Bird’s Eye.
- Operator Error: The Sentiment was stamped crooked.
- The Sentiment was stamped again onto a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock and trimmed to (2¼” x ½”) and the ends were hand-flagged with Paper Snips.
All layers were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. Super simple, just stamps, ink and paper.
A fun little encouragement card…
