Textured Floral – Birthday Blooms

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday to you all…

A pretty birthday card for you today using the palette suggested by Creative Colour (#182) and the layout from Try A Sketch On Tuesday (#664).

Here is the result:

TEXTURED FLORAL – CCC182 – TSOT664

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Night of Navy Floral patterned piece of paper from the Serene Love Designer Series Paper pack, currently on the Last Chance List.
  • The Flowers were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Light and Dark Pretty in Pink; Light and Dark Highland Heather; Light Boho Blue; and Light Lost Lagoon.
  • Accent Strip: (4” x 5¼”) Boho Blue cardstock cut in three pieces to get the “pie” slice.
  • Top Mat: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock cut in the same three pieces.
    • The sentiment, Birthday Blooms, from the Textured Floral stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy ink on the “left” triangle piece.
    • The Basic White “triangles” were adhered to the Boho Blue “triangles” and the excess Basic White edges were trimmed.
    • The “triangles” were then adhered to the Floral Background Panel.
  • Shape – Flowers: Two Florals were fussy-cut with Paper Snips from the Night Of Navy Open Floral designed piece of paper from the same paper pack.
    • The Flowers were also colored with the same Stampin’ Blends Markers colors.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Double Floral image was popped up with Dimensionals and three Misty Moonlight Tinsel Gems were added.

This card hints at the coming of Spring…

I am also sharing this card with Double Trouble (#185) who has partnered with Try A Sketch On Tuesday and Beautiful Blossoms (#26) as I chose to use Flowers in my design.

  2. Jolanda, what a beautiful interpretation of our TSOT sketch! I love how the flowers cascade across the card!! So clever to cut out the colored flowers as the central focal point. Thank you for sharing your card with both TSOT and Double Trouble!!! -Donna
