Grow With Love – Hello

Hi again.  I have a quick clean and simple card for you this afternoon…

Over at Facebook Stampin’ Through the Catalog, the featured stamp set is the On-Line Exclusive Grow With Love.  I have it, so I just had to play along.

Other challenges that informed my choices: Color Dare (#639) for the Palette and Shopping Our Stash (#542) for a One-Layer card.

I selected the CAS Colours & Sketches (#554) for the clean and simple Layout.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Card Front: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Masks: Basic White cardstock.
    • Circle: (1¼”) Open Circle created with the Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • Rectangle: The Frame image from the Grow With Me stamp set was stamped and fussy-cut with Paper Snips to create both a Solid Mask and an Open Mask.
  • Design:
    • The Frame Image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then covered with the Solid Rectangle Mask.
    • The Open Circle Mask was set in place and the Circle Shape was drawn in with my Fine-Tipped Black Liquid Gel Pen and then Petunia Pop ink was added with a Blending Brush.
    • The Masks were removed, and the Open Rectangle Mask was set in place and Pool Party ink was added with A Blending Brush.
  • Focal Image: The Mint image from the Grow With Me stamp set was stamped into the Rectangle with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Sentiment: The greeting, hello, from the Unbounded Love stamp set was stamped into the Circle, also with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

And we are done…then disaster strikes…Pool Party ink somehow got smudged on to the edge of the card front.  Nothing left to do but trim it out and add to another card front.  So, not quite one layer but you get the idea.

This is my first time adding ink to this stamp set…I think it will become a favorite.
