Let’s Eat Cake – Happy Birthday

Welcome back!  The start of another week…Happy Monday.

Something bright and happy…Color Hues (#104) is featuring Corals and Yellows, two very sunny colors.

Just Us Girls (#763) has a Birthday Mood Board full of bright fun colors, patterns and Washi Tape!

Inspire Create (#187) had the ideal sketch to showcase both of them.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (5⅛” x 3⅞”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅞” x 3⅝”) Basic White cardstock.
  • From my collection of retired Stampin’ Up! Washi Tapes, I selected six different coral and yellow patterns and added them to the Panel vertically to mimic the vertical strips in the sketch.
• Shape – Hexagon: (2½” x 2½”) Calypso Coral cardstock.
  • The Hexagon Frame image and the sentiment, Let’s Eat Cake, from the retired Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set were stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
  • The Hexagon was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.  Finished Size: (2¼” x 2″). Note: The coordinating Heartfelt Hexagon Punch is a current product, but I couldn’t find it in my stash this morning.
• Sentiment Strip: (2¼” x ½”) Daffodil Delight cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, happy birthday, from the Attention Shoppers stamp set was stamped with Calypso Coral ink and trimmed on the diagonal with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Hexagon and the Sentiment Strip were both popped up with Dimensionals.

What fun to pull out the Washi Tape!  A fun little birthday card.
