Sweet Bear – Birthday Wishes

Welcome back!  I really have a lot of fun creating cards and playing with various challenges. I hope I inspire you to get creative.

Today, I am combining Farm Quest (#68) Hibernating Animal(s) with Critter Crazy (#95), a site featuring Animals and more for a child’s birthday card.

I opted for the Atlantic Hearts (#617) Sketch, slightly modified.

And the Creative Colours (#181) Palette with the Seize The Birthday (#299) Theme with the added Twist of Hearts.

Here is the result:

A LITTLE WILD – SPRING CORNERS – MY SMALL BUSINESS – FQCB68 – 2CCCB95 – AHSC617 – CCC181 – STB299

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Copper Clay cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Lemon Lolly cardstock die-cut with the (5⅛” x 3¾”) Rectangle die from the retired Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies set.
    • The sentiment, wishing you an amazing day, from the Spring Corners stamp set, an On-Line exclusive product, was stamped with Copper Clay ink.
  • Inset Panel: (4½” x 3¼”) Lemon Lolly Striped patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2025 Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
    • Arc: (2½” x 4”) Pecan Pie cardstock die-cut with the (4”) Circle die from the retired Framelits Circles Collection Dies set.
    • The Arc was adhered to the Lemon Lolly patterned paper and the entire piece was die-cut with the (4⅜” X 3”) Rectangle die, also from the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies set.
    • The sentiment, happy birthday, also from the Spring Corners stamp set, was stamped with Copper Clay ink as was the three Hearts image from the My Small Business stamp set.
  • Accent Circle: Lemon Lolly cardstock.
    • Using the (1¾”) Circle Punch, an On-Line Exclusive product, a Circle was punched out from the Background Panel.
  • Focal Image – Baby Bear: Pecan Pie cardstock scrap.
    • The Small Bear image, from the retired A Little Wild stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Black Embossing Powder.
    • Using a Craft Paint Brush, the Baby Bear was painted with Bleach to remove the color from the cardstock resulting in a light-yellow color.
    • The Image was rinsed with water to stop the bleaching action and dried with the Heat Tool.
    • Once dry, the Baby Bear was colored with the Light Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends Marker and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Baby Bear was popped up with Dimensionals.

A sweet birthday card…
