Sentimental Wishes – Christmas Thoughts

Welcome back!  Monday – the start of a brand-new week.

I really like the Just Add Ink (#738) Sketch, and I just had to have another play with it!

I created a Christmas card for Jingle Belles (#2504) and Krafty Chicks (#755) influenced by Love Those Pretty Papers (#8) and Crafter’s Café (#316).

Here is the result:

SENTIMENTAL WISHES – WHITE CHRISTMAS – JAI738 – JB2504 – KCC755 – LTPP008 – CCCB316

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Granny Apple Green cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3” x 5¼”) Diagonal Stripes and (1” x 5¼”) Red and White Spots (reverse side) from the Take a Bow Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Blocks: Basic White, Vellum and Real Red cardstock.
    • The Candle image from the now retired Sentimental Wishes stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Flame – Dark Daffodil Delight; Candles – Light and Dark Granny Apple Green; Berries – Light and Dark Real Red; and Holly – a mix of Dark Old Olive and Dark Shaded Spruce to get to Garden Green.
    • All three Candle images were die-cut with the (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Square Stitched die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set, as were the Vellum and Real Red cardstocks.
    • The Real Red Squares were further die-cut with the (1½” x 1½”) Square Stitched die to create the Frame.
    • The Frame, Vellum and Base Square were adhered together for the see-through Frosted Window for Jingle Belles.
  • Sentiment Strip: 2¼” x ½”) Garden Green cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Thinking of You at Christmas, from the retired White Christmas stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and trimmed diagonally with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The center Square and the Sentiment were both popped up with Dimensionals.

Frosted Windows and welcoming Candles.  A pretty little holiday card.
