You Are Fantastic – Everyday Arches & More

Design Time for the Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#499), where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 33 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

I chose to mirror the sketch and play with today’s Stampin’ Through the Catalog stamp set selection, Everyday Arches, an On-Line Exclusive product.

Additional inspiration for style, theme and colors were provided by: CAS on Friday (#302); Simply Clean & Simple (#20); Make My Monday (#245); Stampin’ Up! Only (#369) and TGIF (#511) for a modern valentine card.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
• Shape – Trimmed Arch: (4” x 4”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the largest Arch die from the Everyday Arches Dies set.  (Arch = 3¾” x 3⅞”).
  • The sentiment, You are simply fantastic, from the Everyday Arches stamp set was stamped with Real Red ink.
  • The sentiment, sending love, from the Country Flowers stamp set was also stamped with Real Red ink.
  • The Small Heart image, from the Hooray For Surprises stamp set was stamped with Bubble Bath ink.
•  Decoration – Butterfly: (3½” x 2½”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Large Butterfly image, from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set was stamped with Gray Granite ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Wings – Light and Dark Bubble Bath and Light Pretty in Pink; and Body – Light Smoky Slate.
  • The Butterfly was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Sketched Butterflies Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the mirror image of the sketch and the Butterfly Wings were curled a little and then the Butterfly was popped up with Dimensionals.

A very clean and simple card celebrating love…
