Amour – Hearts & Roses

Time again for Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#498), where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Today?  The card can be found on page 27 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog.

Valentines is fast approaching and there are plenty of themed challenges about.  Indulge me as I select a few retired stamp sets to bring my idea(s) together.

Festive Friday (#177) with a delightful list of ten options and I added seven; Heart’s Quest (#70) Anything Goes with colored hearts, and I added both a pink and white one; Colorful Options (February) Mood Board with both Hearts and Roses and of course the traditional colors; and If You Give A Crafter A Cookie (#201) with a plate full of delicious Heart Cookies.

Here is the result:

STIPPLED ROSES – PARISIAN BEAUTY – FOLLOW MY HEART – CT498 – FF0177 – HQCB70 – COC Feb 2025 – CC201

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 8½” scored at 4¼”) Real Red cardstock for a Square card.
  • Accent Panel: (3⅞” x 3⅝”) Bubble Bath cardstock.
  • Under Panel: (3⅝” x 3⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Verse Words image from the retired Parisian Beauty stamp set was stamped with Smoky Slate ink across the Panel.
    • The Eiffel Tower image from the retired Follow My Heart stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 3½”) Real Red cardstock die-cut with the Heart Frame/Inset die from the Spring Is In The Air Dies set, a Paper Pumpkin Add-On product.
  • Heart Frame: (3¼” x 3¼”) Bubble Bath cardstock die-cut with same Heart Frame/Inset die.
  • Decoration – Rose: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Small Rose image from the Stippled Roses stamp set was stamped with Basic Gray ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Rose – a blend of Light Bubble Bath and Light Real Red and the Leaves – Light Smoky Slate.
    • The Rose was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Stippled Roses Dies set.
  • Sentiment Flag: (1⅜” x ⅜”) Smoky Slate cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Amour, also from the Parisian Beauty stamp set, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Gold Embossing Powder and then hand-flagged with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the mirror image of the sketch and both the Rose and the Sentiment as well as the entire Panel were popped up with Dimensionals.

Happy Valentines Day!

I am looking forward to seeing how you choose to use the sketch.
