Lifelong Friend – Ephemera Card

Welcome back!  Clean and Simple is the order of the day and what can be simpler than making selections from the wonderful Ephemera Packs that Stampin’ Up! has given us to create great cards quickly.

I selected the Something For Everyone and Saying Something packs along with the coordinating Calming Creek Cards & Envelopes to make my card.

The challenges: Krafty Chicks (#751) for the style, CAS Colours & Sketches (#551) for the style and colors and Freshly Made Sketches (#669) for Narelle’s layout which I flipped to better accommodate my selections.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Pool Party Cross Hatch patterned piece of paper cut from the interior of one of the envelopes from the Calming Creek pack.
  • Using the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker, a few waves were added to support the Boat.
• Focal Images – Boat and Fish: Laser Die-cuts from the Something for Everyone pack.
  • Using the Light Old Olive, SU100 and Bronze Stampin’ Blends Markers, the colors of the Boat Sails and Hull were enhanced.  The Boat was also closely trimmed with Paper Snips.
  • Using my Extra Fine-Tipped Liquid Gel Pen, I added small Black details to the Pumpkin Pie Fish and the Boat to match the Old Olive Fish.
• Sentiment Label: The sentiment, Thank you for being my lifelong friend, a Pumpkin Pie printed Laser Die-cut from the Saying Something pack was selected.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the flipped sketch and the Fish and Boat were popped up with Dimensionals. 

A quick clean and simple friendship card.
