Winter Chickadees

I have the pleasure of being a guest designer for Farm Quest Country Christmas this month.  What fun!

As a crafter, especially a paper crafter, you know that we hoard all little bits of pretty stuff with the caveat “I can use this for something – I just don’t know yet when”.

In this case, I have kept this little Winter Chickadee Scene aside for many years.  I think it came unsolicited from a calendar or some type of advertisement and works really well with the current Inspiration Station (#69) suggestion which includes a wintery bird scene.

Isn’t it an ideal image for a rural Country Winter theme?

Here is the result:

HANDMADE DESIGNS – RECYCLED CHICKADEE IMAGE – FQCCCB16 – ISC69

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pebbled Path cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Beige cardstock.
    • The sentiment, have the best day!, from the 2025 Sale-a-bration Bonus stamp set: Handmade Designs was stamped with Pebbled Path ink and then the panel was dry-embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Mat: (4” x 3”) Poppy Parade cardstock.
  • Focal Panel: (4” x 3”) Trimmed and repurposed calendar image – Winter Chickadees.

All elements were adhered to the card base and a small double Linen Thread Bow was added.

Just a reminder to use those pretty little items you are hoarding.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
