Mixed Florals – Birthday

Design Team Time: This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#454) we have a Color Challenge. Such pretty colors…perfect for florals.

Influences: Christmas (or not) Bingo (#11) choosing letter “O” for Rectangle, Stitching, Twine, Patterned Paper and Embossing for my FREE Square; Make My Monday (#242) choosing Numbers 217 (Birthdays), 218 (Patterned Paper), and 221 (Spring Flowers) from 2024 as my themes.  I am also sharing this card with Ellibelle’s Crafty Wednesday (January) Anything Goes theme.

Here is the result:

MIXED FLORALS BUNDLE – MIXED LABELS BUNDLE – SIMPLY SAID – HSS454 – CONBCB11 – MMM242 – ECWC January 2025

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Petunia Pop cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3½” x 5”) Lemon Line Twist Gingham patterned piece of paper from the retired Glorious Gingham Designer Series Paper pack die-cut with the (3⅜” x 4¾”) Rectangle die from the retired Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies set.
  • Focal Image – Flowers: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Tulip Flower image from the Mixed Florals stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive Product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen; Tulips – Light and Dark Highland Heather; Posies – Light and Dark Petunia Pop; Foliage – Light and Dark Lemon Lime Twist and then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Mixed Floral Dies set.
    • Using Paper Snips, some interior white spaces of the Floral image were fussy-cut to allow the patterned paper to peek through.
  • Sentiment Banner: (4¼” x 1½”) Highland Heather cardstock.
    • The Banner image from the Mixed Labels stamp set, also an On-Line Exclusive Product, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Simply Said stamp set was also stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.  The sentiment is a photopolymer stamp that could be bent (shaped) to fit the Banner.
    • The Banner was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Mixed Labels Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base with the Flowers and the Sentiment Banner popped up with Dimensionals.  A small double Basic White Baker’s Twine Bow was added to finish off the card.

A nice fresh Spring Floral Birthday card!
