Jolly Gingerbread – From Our House

Welcome back!  Catching up on a few challenges that I didn’t have time for during the Christmas week.  Ho, Ho, Ho!

Design Team: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#492) where we CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  Last week’s card can be found on page 47 of the Sep – Dec Mini Catalog.

My design was influenced by: Inspiration Station (#68) for the Gingerbread Motif; Facebook’s Colour INKSpiration (#179) for the palette; and sharing with Inkspirational (#331) by choosing to use Stencils.

Here is the result:

JOLLY GINGERBREAD – ITTY BITTY CHRISTMAS – CT492 – ISC68 – CI179 – IC331

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
    • Using the Diamond Square patterned stencil from the retired Foursquare Decorative Masks set and Blending Brushes with Shaded Spruce and Real Red inks, the grid was added to the panel.
    • The panel was then dry-embossed with the Painted Trees 3D Embossing Folder to mimic the Christmas Tree in the inspiration photo.  The Trees were highlighted with Shaded Spruce ink applied with a Blending Brush.
  • Accent Panel:
    • The center of the panel was die-cut using the (4¼” x 3”) Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set.
    • The panel frame was adhered to the card base and the cut-out piece was fitted back in and popped up with Dimensionals.
  • Shapes: Basic White cardstock.
    • Three Gingerbread Houses from the Jolly Gingerbread December 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Roof, House and Door Frame – Light and Dark Pecan Pie; Heart Motif – Dark Flirty Flamingo; Leafy Scroll and Window Dots – Dark Shaded Spruce; Door and Deco Tiles – Dark Balmy Blue; Windows – Light and Dark Lemon Lolly; Window Trim and Portico Columns – Dark Real Red.
    • Each Gingerbread House was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Flag: Real Red cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, From Our House To Yours, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The Flag was trimmed to (⅞” x 1½”) and hand notched with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with all bits popped up with more Dimensionals.

And that wraps up the 2024 Holiday card season.
