New Year – New You – Happy Birthday

Welcome back!  Monday again and I am playing in the Studio.

Do you have a friend that has a New Year’s birthday?  I do!  So, here is a card for him.

Starting with Seize The Birthday (#296) with a Masculine Twist and sharing with The Male Room (#193) Anything Goes.

Over at Double Trouble (#181) Anything Goes, add a Ribbon and create with a previous partner in mind.  Therefore, I am choosing my color scheme from Color Dare (#629) as these read rather masculine to me.  I am also sharing this card with Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#12) for a Birthday with a New Year twist.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• Accent Mat (1): (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Wild Wheat cardstock.
• Accent Mat (2): (3½” x 4¾”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3¼” x 4½”) Lost Lagoon cardstock.
• Four Square Mats: (3½” x 3½”) Very Vanilla cardstock die-cut with the (1½” x 1½”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Four Square Accents: (1¼” x 5½”) Pretty Peacock cardstock scrap die-cut with the (1” x 1”) Stitched Square die, also from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • On one Square, the sentiment, To You, was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.  The words were selected from one of the greetings found in the Greetings of the Season stamp set and ink was selectively applied to each word.
• The letters, H, B and D (for Happy Birth Day) were die-cut from a piece of Wild Wheat cardstock scrap with the Mini Alphabet Dies set.

The elements were arranged in a Four Square pattern and a (5”) length of retired Wild Wheat Textured Ribbon was twisted around the Lost Lagoon Panel and secured with scotch tape to complete the card.

A no-nonsense type of card, just perfect for a fellow’s birthday.
