Welcome back! Already Thursday – where does the time go?
I am having a play with a few CAS (clean and simple) challenges using the opulent colors and photo inspiration offered up by Sunday Stamps (#349).

Additional inspiration: Addicted to CAS (#272) Ornament; AAA Cards (#279) Christmas Theme; and bringing it all together CAS Colours & Sketches (#550) to make over a previous sketch with a Seasonal flair.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Shimmery White cardstock, still in my stash.
- Using the retired Big Shot Embossing Mats with my Big Shot Machine, the Snowy Swirl die from the retired Stitched Stars Dies set was embossed.
- The sentiment, Be Merry, from the Christmas Labels stamp set was stamped into Versamark ink and then into Mossy Meadow ink and then heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder for a super colored shiny look.
- Frame: (2½” x 3”) Mossy Meadow cardstock double die-cut with the (2¼” x 2½”) and (1⅞” x 2⅛’”) Hexagon dies from the retired Beautiful Shapes Dies set.
- Ornament: (2” x 2”) Basic White cardstock, Shimmery White cardstock, Gold Foil and Silver Foil.
- Using dies from the Stitched Stars Dies set, the Basic White Support (2”) Solid Star was die-cut. Three Filagree (2”) Stars were die-cut from the Shimmery White, Gold Foil and Silver Foil, retaining all the chads.
- The Gold Star was adhered to the solid base Star and the five larger Silver Star Chads were adhered in place followed by the small Shimmery White Chads for a decorative inlay design.
- Accent Shapes – Stars: Gold Foil and Silver Foil die-cut with the (⅝”) and 1⅛”) Filagree Star dies.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. A bit of retired Gold Cording Trim was added to hang the Ornament which was popped-up with Dimensionals.
Wouldn’t this Ornament look lovely on your tree? Happy Holidays.

Oh wow, Jolanda! So very elegant – I love the inlaid in foils so much! Very cool trick with the “emboss” in the background, too – I have a mat for that around here somewhere – this one is SO effective! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
