Nature’s Beauty – Noel

Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#718) challenge.  This week, LeAnne’s theme is featuring the beautiful and majestic “Deer”.  Lots of images to choose…from realistic to delightful.

Bringing my idea(s) together, I chose the Freshly Made (#664) Sketch, the Creative Colour (#169) Palette switching out Copper Clay for Pecan Pie and sharing with TGIF (#501) for their Winter Wonderland inspiration.

Here is the result:

NATURE’S BEAUTY – MANY MERRY MESSAGES – PP718 – FMS664 – CCC169 – TGIFC501

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 5½”) Pecan Pie cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Pecan Pie Snowflake patterned piece of paper from the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Rectangle Block Mats: (1⅜” x 3⅛”) Coastal Cabana and Pretty in Pink cardstock.
  • Rectangle Blocks: (1½” x 3”) White and Gold Grid patterned pieces of paper from the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Focal Image – Deer: (1½” x 3”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The Deer image from the retired Nature’s Beauty stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink and then color was moved about and added with a Blender Pen.
    • The image was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
  • Sentiment Strip: (4” x ½”) White and Gold Grid patterned paper as described above.
    • The sentiment, Noel, from the retired Many Merry Messages stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Deer was popped up with Dimensionals.

What magic to find such a beautiful animal in a snowy Winter Wonderland.

  2. Such a pretty card and you’ve reminded me that I have not used the stamp set with the deer for ages. I love that beautiful snowflake background and the font on the sentiment – no wonder that’s a retired keeper too. Gorgeous card, Jolanda!

  3. I’m loving the brown snowflake background Jolanda and your deer makes for a beautiful centrepiece against the panels; the addition of the coloured borders breaks up the monochromatic effect so beautifully.
