Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#717) challenge. This week, Stef has given us a great little sketch that can be dressed up or down. I chose to go the #simplestamping route with a few easy techniques.

I created a Holiday card incorporating both the Inspire Create (#181) and Inkspirational (#329) theme challenges and did a Reverse Tear technique for the TGIF (#500) challenge.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic Black cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5⅜” x 4⅛”) Basic Black cardstock.
- Diagonal Strip: (7”) Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.
- Focal Panel: (4½” x 3¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Santa and Reindeer Sleigh, Houses and Tree images from the retired Hearts Come Home stamp set were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
- The Circle image from the retired Watercolor Shapes stamp set was stamped with 2nd Generation (stamped-off once) Smoky Slate ink to create the Moon.
- A hand-cut Circle was made using Paper Snips and a bit of Copy Paper and temporarily set in place as a Mask.
- Hand-torn Copy Paper was used as a Mask for the Snow/Sky. Using a Blending Brush and Pool Party ink, the Ground Snow was created.
- Before the Sky color was added, the small Snowflake and Star images, also from the Hearts Come Home stamp set, were added with Versamark ink and heat-set with Clear Embossing Powder.
- Using another Blending Brush, Misty Moonlight ink was added to the Sky.
- The Moon Mask was removed, and the Snowflake and Star images were buffed with a soft tissue to bring up the white color.
- The sentiment, May your days be merry, from the Decorative Trees stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat set with Black Embossing Powder.
- The card was then assembled.
Just Stamps, Ink and Paper for a #simplestamping sweet little Holiday card. Santa is on his way…

Jolanda, your snowy Santa scene makes me smile. The blended night sky is so pretty! What a great way to add the diagonal element with the ribbon. This card will certainly brighten someone’s day! Have a lovely Thanksgiving!

I still have Hearts Come Home and I should get it out, because I just love the feeling that this card evokes! Childhood Christmases and Santa and his reindeer….it doesn’t get more sentimental than that! Love your “snow”, too! Very cleverly done!

This is one of my favourite of all time Christmas sets, so it’s a pleasure to see it in use again. Using the ribbon for the diagonal element was very clever and in keeping with the scene. I like your little torn hills too. 🙂

You’ve created a beautiful scene on your card, Jolanda! The black and light blue color combo evokes winter to the fullest to me and is very lovely for creating your snowy scene with all the silhouette images! I love how you used my sketch this week!
