Sentimental Wishes – Someone Special

Hi again!  Lots of upcoming deadlines so, I am back in the Studio for a second card today.

The challenges: Try A Sketch On Tuesday (#658) Layout; Color Throwdown (#819) Palette; and Just Add Ink (#758) Choose Two.  I opted to create another Holiday card.

Here is the result:

SENTIMENTAL WISHES BUNDLE – TSOT658 – CTD819 – JAI728

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
  • Accent Strips: (2½” x ¼”) Cherry Cobbler cardstock scraps added to the Background Panel corner cuts and then trimmed.
  • Background Panel: (4″ x 5¼”) Cherry Cobbler / Real Red Gingham patterned piece of paper from the retired Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper pack cut on the diagonal @ (1¾” x 1½”).
  • Circle Frame: (3¼” x 3¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock die-cut with both the (3”) and (2⅝”) Stitched Circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Decoration – Holly Swag and Christmas Stocking: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • Both images, from the Sentiment Wishes stamp set, were stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors Chosen: Holly Leaves, Gifts and Stocking – Light and Dark Boho Blue; Stocking Toe, Heel and Holly Stems – Dark Daffodil Delight; and Berries, Ribbons and Candy Canes – Light Cherry Cobbler.
    • The images were die-cut with the coordinating dies from the Sentimental Wishes Dies set.
  • Sentiment Flag: Boho Blue cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, For Someone Special, also from the Sentimental Wishes stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The sentiment was then die-cut with the (2¼” x ⅞”) Banner die, also from the Stylish Shapes Dies set and then shortened to (1⅝”).

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Christmas Stocking and Sentiment were popped-up with Dimensionals.

A fun bright Holiday card…

  2. Those rich colours are great for a Christmas card and your background paper makes the coloured images pop. Thanks so much for joining our choose two challenge at Just Add Ink.
