Hi again! Like I said, a week full of possibilitiesโฆ
So, there are several challenges with a โFRUITโ theme about at the moment.
As You See It (#331) is a speed challenge โ make a card in 10 minutes or less. The trick is to think about your design, keep it simple, assemble your materials and your necessary tools and then go for it!

Inspired By (#300) has Apples as their themed Fruit and a Sketch to boot! Double Trouble (#174) is partnering with Festive Friday (#167) and I chose Apples as my Fruit, Red as my Fruity Color and Gingham for my third item.

Here is the result:

Materials: Real Red cardstock (8ยฝโ x 5ยฝโ); Basic White cardstock (4ยผโ x 5ยฝโ); Designer Series Paper (2โ x 6โ); and (2โ x 2ยฝโ) Basic White cardstock scrap.
Tools: Paper Trimmer; Bone Folder; Paper Snips; Ink Pad; Stampinโ Blends Markers (in chosen colors); Stamp Sets (with chosen images already on the Blocks).
Steps:
- Card Base: (8ยฝโ x 5ยฝโ scored at 4ยผโ) Real Red cardstock folded in half and burnished with a Bone Folder.
- Background Panel: (4โ
โ x 5โ
โ) Basic White cardstock.
- The greeting, Youโre the Best, from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then the Panel was trimmed and adhered to the card base.
- Center Strip Panel: (2โ x 4โ โ) Black and White Gingham patterned piece of paper from the retired Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack trimmed and then adhered to the Background Panel.
- Focal Image – Apple: The Apple image from the retired Apple Harvest stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampinโ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Apple โ blended Light Real Red, retired Sweet Sorbet, Poppy Parade and Pecan Pie with the Color Lifter; Leaves โ Light Granny Apple Green and Old Olive; and Stem โ Light Pecan Pie.
- The Apple was then fussy-cut with Paper Snips and popped up with Dimensionals. For me, I am faster with fussy-cutting and like a closer trim than I would get by using the coordinating die.
That is all, folks! Stop the Timerโฆand it took me Four minutes and Thirty-one seconds.

That seemed awfully fast, so I made a second one to check that it was a true time and I was just a little bit faster the second time around.

A bright, fresh fruit card for the โAppleโ of my eye!

A speed challenge? Hmmm… sounds interesting, Jolanda. And such a delightful card as well. That apple looks crisp and sweet and the gingham background is ideal. The second card is also fresh and appealing. Thank you for joining us at Double Trouble Challenge #174.
