Calm & Quiet – Rest, Relax, Enjoy

Welcome back!  Hope that you are having an enjoyable week. We are experiencing some lovely temperatures here.  Meaning…we have open windows and no air-conditioning.  Totally delightful!

Today, I am playing with Retro Rubber (#238) for their Outdoor theme choosing a favorite scene from the retired Hostess stamp set (circa 2023) Calm & Quiet.

I selected the Team colors from the San Francisco Giants (Baseball) for the Stampin’ Up! Only (#359) color challenge and the Just Add Ink (#718) Choose Two: Texture and Foliage options.

I opted to use the Stampin’ Up! Sketch Template #15 found in the Annual Catalog on page 22 and share with Krafty Chicks (#732) for their Use Stamps challenge.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Crumb Cake cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Basic Beige cardstock dry-embossed with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Circle Accent Mat: (3¾” x 3¾”) Basic Black cardstock die-cut with the (3½”) Circle die from the Deckled Circles Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Focal Image Circle: (5” x 3½”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • The Dock scene from the retired Calm & Quiet stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Coffee Mug – Dark Pumpkin Pie; Foliage – Light and Dark Pumpkin Pie; Dock – Light and Dark Crumb Cake; Chair – Ivory and Light Crumb Cake; Bull Rushes – Light and Dark Crumb Cake; Ducks and Rocks – Light Crumb Cake; and finally Ground and Water accents – Light Smoky Slate.
  • The scene area was selected and die-cut with the (3⅛”) Deckled Circle die.
• Sentiment Label: Fluid 100 Watercolor scrap.
  • The sentiment, Rest, Relax, Enjoy, from the same named stamp set was also stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then die-cut with one of the Rectangle dies from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set, also an On-Line Exclusive product. Finished size (3⅛” x ¾”).
  • Using a Sponge Dauber, Peach Pie ink was lightly added to the edges.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and a bit of Basic Black Baker’s Twine was added to the popped-up Sentiment label.

My idea of Outdoor activities does not lend itself to Camping, but I am totally up for hanging out on a dock listening to the sounds of nature.
