Wildflower Designs – Sending Happy Thoughts

Welcome back!  Here’s to a great weekend and hoping you have some time to be creative.

Today, I am playing around with the Just Add Ink (#717) Sketch, the Color Throwdown (#808) Palette, and the Time Out (#271) and If You Give a Crafter a Cookie (#195) Themes.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Sending Happy Thoughts, from the Wildflower Designs stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then the panel was dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
• Cross Strip Accent Mats: Basic Black cardstock scraps die-cut with the (1½” x 1½”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
• Shapes – Floral Circles: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • Using the Light and Dark Lemon Lolly Stampin’ Blends Markers, the background was colored.
  • The small Floral image, also from the Wildflower Designs stamp set, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • The Flowers were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Blooms – Light and Dark Bubble Bath and Leaves – Dark Granny Apple Green.
  • Each Flower was then die-cut with the (1⅝”) Stitched Circle die, also from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch which I flipped to the horizontal position with the Flowers popped up with Dimensionals for a clean and simple card.

A sweet friendship card to bright someone’s day.
