Splendid Autumn – You Brighten My Days

Welcome back!  Every second Tuesday is busy in the Studio.  My three Design Team projects fall on the same day.

Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#474).  The weekly Catalog CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  The card today?  Found on page 103 of the Annual Catalog.   We invite you to re-create it any way you like.

I was inspired by the Just Us Girls (#740) Mood Board and made a few tweaks to the sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Mossy Meadow cardstock dry-embossed with retired Hexagon Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
• Accent Mat: (4¼” x 3¾”) Lemon Lolly cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (4⅛” x 3⅝”) Painted Daisies patterned piece of paper from the new Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper pack coming in September.  A beautiful sneak peek.
• Cross Strip: (4½” x ¾”) Vellum, retired but still in my stash.
  • The sentiment, You Brighten Up So Many of My Days, from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
• Small Shapes – Bees: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The two small Bee dies from the retired Queen Bee Dies set were used to die-cut the Bees and then they were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Outline Bee Body – Dark Daffodil Delight and Wings – Light Lemon Lolly; and the Top Filigree Bee – Dark Smoky Slate.

I chose to let the very pretty paper be the center show piece and eliminated the “image” and “sentiment” shapes.  Otherwise, all the other elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Bees were was popped up with Dimensionals. 

The new Splendid Autum Designer Series Paper is gorgeous.  I really like how this card came together.
