Let’s Go To The Beach – Friends

Hi again!  Summer and summer vacations…trips to the beach…

Playing with a number of CAS (clean and simple) challenges: AAA Cards (#271), Addicted To CAS (#264) and Simply Clean & Simple (#14) and selecting three colors , Wild Wheat, Pretty in Pink and Moody Mauve, from the Sunday Stamps (#341) line-up.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • A Mask / Stencil was created with one of the Rectangle dies from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set, an On-Line Exclusive product, and a piece of Copy Paper.
  • Using a Blending Brush and the Stencil, Crumb Cake ink was lightly added off-center.
  • The Speckled image from the retired Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set was stamped with Wild Wheat ink stamping off for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Generation coloring at the bottom of the Block to represent Sand.
  • The sentiment, Friends Are Like Seashells…, from the same stamp set was stamped with Moody Mauve ink.
• Decoration – Sand Dollars: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Sand Dollar image from the same stamp set was stamped with Moody Mauve ink and both Pretty in Pink and Moody Mauve inks were lightly added with a Blending Brush.
  • The Sand Dollars were fussy-cut with Paper Snips and added to the card front with one Sand Dollar popped up with Dimensionals.

It was fun to pull out an old favorite “beach” stamp set, kept especially for the wonderful greeting. Hope you like it!
