Lovely & Sweet – Floral Congratulations

Hi!  I have a fun floral summer congrats card for you today.  I must say I really struggled with coming up with a plan for each of these challenges. After a good long think and another cup of coffee…here is what I made.

Over at Just add Ink (#714), a lovely set of bright colors…but what do with them? I was stumped, then I remembered the super pretty floral patterned paper in the now retired Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper pack having those colors.

Over at Festive Friday (#165), a trip to the State Fair…and the winners are Bright Colors, Texture and a Congratulations Sentiment as my three-pick.

Bringing my ideas all together, I chose the Sketch Saturday (#757) layout and their Summer Colors twist to showcase the brightly colored floral paper.

Here is the result:

LOVELY & SWEET – JAI714 – FF0165 – SS757

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Shapes – Postage Stamp Squares: Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Cherry Cobbler and Pretty Peacock cardstock scraps were die-cut with the (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Square Postage Stamp die from the Perennial Postage Dies set.
    • Decoration – Floral Squares: (4” x 4”) Multi-colored Floral patterned piece of paper from the retired Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper pack cut into (1⅝” x 1⅝”) Squares and adhered to the Square Postage Stamp Mats.
  • Sentiment Strip: Pretty Peacock cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Congratulations, from the Lovely & Sweet stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • The sentiment was die-cut with the (2⅝” x ⅜”) Elongated Ticket Punch Corner die from the retired Sending Dies set

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  One Postage Square and the Sentiment were popped up with Dimensionals.

Congratulations, you won first prize for your brightly colored Floral Arrangement at the State Fair!

  3. Jolanda, that’s one of my favorite embossing folders and I love it with the DSP that you chose. The scalloped edges add a wonderful touch of softness. So glad you shared this with us at Festive Friday this week
