Delicate Forest – Best Birthday Wishes

Design Team time: Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#473).  The weekly Catalog CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) of cards found within Stampin’ Up!’s current catalogs.  The card today?  Found on page 127 of the Annual Catalog.   We invite you to re-create it any way you like.

Keeping the layout pretty much the same, I chose to play with the As You Can See It (#329) Recipe requirements.

I am sharing my card with Cupcake Inspirations (#600) for their birthday theme to celebrate their 600th challenge to date (WOW!!) and Colorful Options (August) promoting a yellow/green palette.

Here is the result:

DELICATE FOREST – SEASON OF CHIC – CT473 – AYSI329 – CIC600 – COC August 2024

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Shaded Spruce cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4″ x 5¼”) Green/Yellow Sunburst patterned piece of paper from the Full of Life Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The Panel was dry-embossed with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
    • The pattern was slightly sanded to bring out some of the Leaf detail.
  • Side Strip: (1” x 5¼”) Shade Spruce cardstock dry-embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, also an On-Line Exclusive product, adhered to the left-side of the Background Panel.
  • Twine: (20”) Basic White Twine was wrapped around the edge of Background Panel and tied in a loose Bow.
  • Circle: (4” x 4”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (3¼”) Open Eyelet Circle die from the Spotlight on Natures Dies set.
    • The Tree image from the Delicate Tree stamp set was stamped three times for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation coloring using Shaded Spruce ink.
    • The sentiment, Wishing you the best birthday ever, from the now retired Season of Chic stamp set was also stamped with Shade Spruce ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Circle was popped up with Dimensionals

Loving how the colored “rays” in the patterned paper draw you into the sun-dappled forest.

Hope you can find some time to join us at Case-ing Tuesday this week.  I would love to see what you will create for this sketch.

  1. Just gorgeous, Jolanda – I love the look of this so much, and I was not a huge fan of this stamp set, lol. Trust you to make it great! That DSP is fabulous with the embossing, too – so fun! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!

  2. Fantastic use of that DSP Jolanda! Embossing it just took the whole design up a notch. Love that the trees remain the star of the show with the DSP drawing the eye to the centre. What a fabulous use of the elements. Thanks for playing along with us at As You See It.

  3. The use of this DSP absolutely crushed this challenge Jolanda, as did the use of two different EFs! The Spotlight on Nature die was a perfect showcase for the Delicate Forest images in shades of green! Thanks for cooking up our recipe at As You See It Challenges!
