Everyday Details – Happy Thoughts

Welcome back!  How does the week go by so quickly?  No matter, I am playing in the Studio.

Today’s combinations: Over at Stampin’ Up! Only (#357), we are tasked with CASE-ing a card found on page 64 of the Annual Catalog.  I chose to take up the Stampin’ Up! (August) Creative Challenge to play with an alternate color combo, selecting the one suggested by the Global Design Project (#457) team.  I selected Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#8) twist theme – Encouragement.

Here is the result:

EVERYDAY DETAILS – WILDFLOWER DESIGN BUNDLE – SUOC357 – SUCC August 2024 – GDP457 – HQCOLCB08

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
    • The Dotted image from the Everyday Details stamp set was stamped randomly with Misty Moonlight ink.
  • Cross Strips: (3½” x 1¼”) Blue/Green Water-colored Mottled patterned piece of paper from the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Sentiment Strips: (3¾” x ½”) Summer Splash cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Sending Happy Thoughts, from the Wildflower Design stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink with selective inking onto two separate strips.
  • Shapes: (4” x 3¼”) Lemon Lolly patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2025 Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper pack die-cut for two Mats with the (1⅞” x 3”) Stitched Hexagon die from the Wildflower Designs Dies set.
  • Decoration – Tea Cups: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The Tea Cup image from the Everyday Details stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  One image directly and the other onto the Silicone Craft Sheet and the cardstock pressed to it for the reverse / mirror image. The Tea Cups were water-colored using the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush picking up ink from the Ink Pad lids.  Colors selected: Flower – Daffodil Delight, Leaves – Summer Splash and Cup – Misty Moonlight.
    • The Tea Cups were then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the layout of the project I selected to case with the Tea Cups popped up with Dimensionals.

  1. Thanks for sharing at Heart’s Quest Celebrations of Love! This encouragement card for either a birthday or sympathy will certainly brighten someone’s day. The analogous color scheme with the tonal values varying adds interest to the pretty tea cups and flowers! Terrific card! –Becca
