Inspiring Iris – Sunset Hello

So many deadlines fall on a Sunday.  If I have a busy week, it means I get to spend time in the Studio catching up.  Which is a very good thing!

So, for the Atlantic Heart’s (#588) Sketch, I chose the Color Throwdown (#804) Palette for a summer sunset hello.  I am sharing this card with Four Seasons (August) and Paper Craft Crew (#581) for their summer themes.

Here is the result:

INSPIRING IRIS – SAILING HOME – UNBOUNDED LOVE – AHSC588 – CTD804 – TFSC August 2024 – PCC581

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • A Circle Opening was die-cut with the (3¼”) Circle die from the retired Circles Collection Framelits Dies set.
    • The Panel was then dry-embossed with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
  • Focal Image: (4” x 4”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
    • Using Blending Brushes, Daffodil Delight ink was added to the center area, followed by Pumpkin Pie ink top and bottom and finished off with Gorgeous Grape ink, also top and bottom.
    • Using the (2¾”) Circle die, also from the same Circles Collection Framelits Dies set, I cut out a Circle.
    • I selected a Floral image from the retired Inspiring Iris stamp set because it reminded me of Bullrushes and stamped it twice with Gorgeous Grape ink.
    • To finish off the Sunset scene, I added the Seagull image from the retired Sailing Home stamp set also using Gorgeous Grape ink.
  • Sentiment: Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
    • The word, hello, from the Unbounded Love stamp set was stamped with Gorgeous Grape ink and die-cut with the (1”) Circle die, again from the Circles Collection Framelits Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sunset scene was popped up with Dimensionals centered and framed by the Gorgeous Grape peeking through the embossed die-cut Background piece and the Sentiment Circle was added to the edge with another Dimensional.

A super summer evening and I wish you were here with me!

  1. Wow, Jolanda, you did our sketch justice for sure! This lovely scene is so calm and serene. Love the cattails and geese, but that shading/blending really gives this an added dimension! So happy you played with our AHSC sketch this week!
