Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#700) challenge. This week, LeAnne has a super sketch for us. Three basic shapes and lots of possibilities.

Inspiration: If You Give A Crafter a Cookie (#194) Aloha Hibiscus; Beautiful Blossoms (#19) for their Tropical Floral Mood Board; and choosing four of the Color Dare (#610) Six Pack Board options (Flamingo, Peach, Lagoon, and Rosy) to complete my design.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Flirty Flamingo cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with my favorite retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder for a little texture.
- Shapes: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
- The Hibiscus Flower from the retired Tropical Chic stamp set was stamped six times, two each with Petal Pink, Flirty Flamingo and Melon Mambo ink and die-cut with the coordinating Flower die from the retired Tropical Thinlits Dies set.
- The Large Tropical Leaf from the now retired Tropical Leaf stamp set was stamped twice with Pretty Peacock ink and punched out with the Tropical Leaf Punch, a still available On-Line Exclusive product.
- The Small Tropical Leaf, also from the Tropical Leaf stamp set, was stamped twice with 2nd Generation (stamped off once) Pretty Peacock ink and fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- Sentiment Label: (2¼” x ½”) Flirty Flamingo cardstock scrap.
- The sentiment, Thinking of you today & every day, from the Happiest Day stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with the Leaf Bundles making up the top and bottom shapes and the Flowers making up the center shape. Some of the Leaves and Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals as was the Sentiment.
A summery bright and fun thinking of you card.

Fabulous tropical card, Jolanda! I am a Florida girl through and through although I only visit these days. I love the way you presented both the split-leaf philodendron (Monstera Deliciosa) and the multi-colored Hibiscus. So lovely. Thank you for joining in at Color Dare #610.

I love the tropical look you’ve created! It’s so fresh and cheerful. Unfortunately the leaves in Pretty Peacock are too dark and not part of our Color Dare challenge. Please keep sharing with us. We love seeing your artwork.

Stampin’ Up! Provided us with a CTMH Color Match Chart now that we are combined. CTMH Lagoon is matched to SU! Pretty Peacock, so that is what I used.
Cheers!

Being a former CTMH Maker I’ve seen the chart. The problem is that Pretty Peacock is much darker than Lagoon. Because of this transition phase I’ll retract my comment and let your pretty card stand. In the future it’s better to color match by eye rather than the chart. Thanks so much for all the wonderful artwork you share at Color Dare.

What color would you suggest as an alternative? Happy to keep to the choices but I do not own any CTMH inks. Thanks for your comment.

Very tropical in color and so pretty. Our hibiscus hedge has five different color blooms. Now, if they would just all bloom at the same time … they’d look like your card! lol Thank you for sharing with us at Color Dare.
