Simply Said – Let’s Celebrate (with cake)

Happy Saturday!  Hope you are having an excellent weekend…

So, lots of challenges for this one: Starting with a Tic Tac Toe board from Seize The Birthday (#288) which ties in nicely with Just Us Girls (#737).

I selected the Tuesday Morning (#766) sketch and the Creative Colours (#151) palette and sharing with Krafty Chicks (#726) for their All Occasions theme.

Here is the result:

SIMPLY SAID – ATTENTION SHOPPERS – STB288 – JUGS737 – TMS766 – CCC151 – KCC726

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • Accent Mat (1): (4” x 5¼”) Crushed Curry cardstock.
  • Accent Mat (2): (3⅝” x 4⅞”) Lost Lagoon cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4¼” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock.
    • Using the Close To My Heart Geometric Grid Die as a Stencil and a Sponge Dauber, Lost Lagoon ink was applied to create a patterned piece of paper that was trimmed to (3½” x 4¾”).
  • Vertical Cross Strip: (½” x 4¼”) Lost Lagoon cardstock scrap dry-embossed with the retired Cross Hatch Basics 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Rectangle Accent Mat: (3⅛” x 1¾”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • Rectangle Panel: (3” x 1⅝”) Crushed Curry Striped patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2025 Regals Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The sentiment, Let’s Celebrate, from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped repeatedly with Night of Navy ink.
  • Circle Shape: (2½” x 2½”) Night of Navy cardstock scrap.
    • The Birthday Cake image from the Attention Shoppers stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder and then die-cut with the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Circle was popped up with Dimensionals and three Blue retired Adhesive Backed Milky Dots were added for a bit of bling.

The colors lent themselves to a masculine vibe, so my birthday card was created with a fellow in mind and therefore , a ribbon bow was not added.

Thanks for spending some of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!

  1. I love your choice of bold colors. It could be a masculine or femmine card. Thanks for linking up with us at Seize the Birthday Challenge.
