Changing Leaves – Thank You

Design Time: This round Hand Stamped Sentiments (#443) has a great sketch…lots of possibilities and Cardz 4 Guyz (#352) is asking us to use Metals in some way and I decided to combine the two.

Additional inspiration: Festive Friday (#164) incorporating some of the elements from their Summer Olympics List and the Paper Craft Crew (#579) Tic Tac Toe Lines, but especially the center square – Leaves which led me to the new On-Line Exclusive Changing Leaves Bundle which is also featured this week over at Facebook’s Stampin’ Through the Catalog.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla Thick cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4⅛” x 5⅜”) Very Vanilla Thick cardstock dry-embossed with the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder.
• Panel (1): (3¼” x 4½”) Copper Foil from the retired Brushed Metallics Cardstock pack.
• Panel (2): (2” x 3¾”) Gold Foil Specialty Paper.
• Square: (1⅝” x 1⅝”) Silver Foil Specialty Paper.
  • The two sentiment stamps: I couldn’t have done it without you and Thank you, from the Changing Leaves stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with retired Pewter Embossing Powder.
• Decoration – Skeleton Leaf: (4¼” x 3¾”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The Leaf image, also from the Changing Leaves stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with Copper Embossing Powder.
  • The Leaf was then die-cut with the coordinating die from the Changing Leaves Dies set.
  • I also embossed the Leaf with the Changing Leaves Embossing Folder but that is not so easy to see, but you can feel the texture.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Retired Copper, Gold and Pewter Adhesive-Backed Dots still in my stash were added to complete the card.  The Silver Sentiment Square was popped up with Dimensionals.

A shiny metallic thank you card suitable for a fellow but elegant enough for anyone.
