Country Florals – Birthday Card

Design Team time.  Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#467).  The card we are case-ing can be found on page 44 of the Annual Catalog.   Each week, a card sample from the catalog is selected and we invite you to re-create it any way you like.

The Inspired By (#295) photograph set the path for the choices taken with this card.

and I am sharing it with Krafty Chicks (#722) for their all-occasion theme and Paper Craft Crew (#577) for their CASE Twist

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic Beige cardstock stamped with the Sketched Plaid Background stamp using Real Red ink
• Accent Panel: (3” x 3½”) Pool Party Weathered Wood patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
• Sentiment Panel: (3½” x 2”) Smoky Slate Striped patterned piece of paper also from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Translucent Florals stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and deliberately blurred with the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush.
• Shape – Floral Teapot: Basic Beige, Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon and Real Red cardstock scaps.
  • The Teapot image from the Country Florals stamp set was stamped with Pecan Pie ink and colored with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • Using dies from the coordinating Country Florals Dies set, the Teapot, Flowers and Leaves were die-cut.
  • The Flowers and Leaves were arranged and adhered in place to the Teapot.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A piece of retired Braided Burlap Trim was added and the Teapot was popped up with Dimensionals. 

A sweet country chic summer Birthday card.
