Sketched Butterflies – Hope

Welcome back!  The week begins anew…

Today I am creating a card for Just Us Girls (#732)…a magnificent Mood Board with an eclectic set of colors and images.  I just love the Crushed Curry but try as I might, I couldn’t get it play nicely with the Pretty in Pink.  It had to be one or the other and then I remembered I had a Mop-Up Panel that I made as I cleaned up my workspace from a prior project in Pink.  So, there you have it.  The Pink won the battle.

I selected the Try a Sketch on Tuesday (#649) layout and the Global Design Project (#451) theme to complete my card.

Here is the result:

SKETCHED BUTTERFLIES BUNDLE – COMFORT & HOPE – JUGS732 – TSOT649 – GDP451

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Misty Moonlight cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The sentiment, Hope is a beautiful thing that flutters in the soul, from the Sketched Butterflies stamp set was stamped with Summer Splash ink.
    • The Swirl String image from the retired Comfort & Hope stamp set was stamped around the sentiment with Pretty in Pink ink.
  • Mop-Up Panel: Trimmed to (2½” x 4”)
    • Retired Shimmery White cardstock used to mop-up pink ink colors left on the Stampin’ Glass Mat post a prior Blending Brush project.
  • Shapes – Butterflies: Summer Splash, Misty Moonlight and Basic White cardstock scraps die-cut with the smaller Butterfly dies from the Sketched Butterflies Dies set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch which I flipped to the horizonal position.  2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added.  A Summer Splash gem was colored with the Dark Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends Marker to match along with both a Pretty in Pink and Summer Splash one.

Sweet and simple.

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
