Textured Floral – Smile

Welcome back!  Happy Saturday.  It is going to be a busy day.  Hubby is up early to beat the heat with some garden work so, I headed to the Studio before I have to get in gear.

Starting with the Freshly Made (#641) Sketch and the Creative Colours (#146), I chose to make a card for a friend incorporating elements from the latest Tic Tac Toe (#250) Board.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Soft Sea Foam cardstock.
• Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Leaf patterned piece of vellum from the retired Vellum Basics Specialty Paper pack.
  • Using a Blending Brush, a patch of Boho Blue ink was added to support the Focal image.
  • The Splatter image from the Textured Floral stamp set was added to the backside of the Vellum.
  • The sentiment, Every thought of you makes me smile, also from the Textured Floral stamp set, was stamped with Blackberry Bliss ink.
  • The ink was allowed to dry.
• Shapes – Flowers: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The large Floral image was stamped with 2^nd Generation (stamped off once) Blackberry Bliss ink for a lighter look.
  • The small Floral image was stamped with Boho Blue ink,
  • The Leaves image was stamped with Soft Sea Foam ink.
  • All pieces were die-cut with the coordinating dies from the Textured Floral Dies set.

The Vellum Layer was adhered to the card base with a bit of Stampin’ Seal Adhesive under the Floral Die-Cuts.  The Floral die-cuts were arranged and the large Flower was popped up with Dimensionals.  A few Tinsel Gems, both blue and pink, were added for a bit of bling but also to affix the Vellum along the side.

A soft pretty friendship card.
