Simply Zinnia / Simply Said – Floral Birthday

Wednesday Hellos!  I certainly have a mash up for you today…

Double Trouble (#169) is celebrating the longest day of the year – tomorrow – June 20th by asking for a Slim Line card and to partner up with I Spy With My Little Eye (#16) by adding Flowers.

I selected the CAS Colours & Sketches (#539) Slim Line Sketch and the Colors and Floral element from the Inspiration Photo suggested by Sunday Stamps (#337) to make a Birthday Card for Seize The Birthday (#285) trying the Double Stenciling Technique.

Here is the result:

SIMPLY ZINNIA – SIMPLY SAID – DT169 – EIS016 – CC&S539 – SSC337 – STB285

Steps:

  • Card Base: (7” x 6” scored at 3½”) Lost Lagoon cardstock for a Mini Slim Line card.  (Note that I created the Mirror image of the Sketch).
  • Background Panel: (5⅞” x ⅜”) Basic White cardstock.
    • I created a Stencil Mask using Copy Paper and the (1¼”) and (1⅝”) Circle dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
    • Placing the Stencil, so that the Circles were in the approximate areas as suggested by the Sketch, I added Bubble Bath ink with a Blending Brush.
    • For the Double Stenciling Technique, I left the Circle Stencil in place and fixed the retired Diamond Patterned Foursquare Decorative Mask over top and added Lost Lagoon ink with another Blending Brush.
    • The Masks were removed.
  • Banner Accent Mat: (2¾” x 3¼”) Bubble Bath cardstock hand-notched with Paper Snips for a rise of approximately (⅜”).
  • Banner – Focal Image – Flowers: (2⅝” x 3⅛”) Basic White cardstock similarly hand-notched.
    • The Triple Zinnias Floral image from the Simply Zinnia stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
    • The Zinnias were colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen.  Floral Center – Dark Daffodil Delight; Overall Flowers – Light Bubble Bath, followed by Light Fresh Freesia and then Light Petunia Pop and again with Light Bubble Bath to blend; Leaves – Light and Dak Lost Lagoon.
  • Sentiment Accent Mat: (2⅝” x ½”) Lost Lagoon cardstock scrap.
  • Sentiment Label: (2½” x ⅜”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Happy Birthday, from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped with Lost Lagoon ink.

All element were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  The Sentiment was popped up with Dimensionals.

A pretty floral birthday card with Trellis-like accents.
