Forget Me Nots – In My Thoughts

Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#693) challenge.  This week, Joanne has selected a lovely color palette.  Yellow and Blue is always a nice combination, and I added a little bit of Green.

Additional inspiration for my card was influenced by Festive Friday (#161) and their Alzheimer’s Awareness theme; The Flower Challenge (#92) Sketch as I chose to use Forget Me Nots; and Just Add Ink (#705) to include a Fancy Edge.

Here is the result:

MEANINGFUL FLOWERS – POISED PEONY – PP693 – FF0161 – TFC92 – JAI705-

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Night of Navy cardstock.
  • Vertical Panel: (3” x 5½”) Boho Blue Stylized Floral patterned piece of paper from the 2024/2026 In-Color Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
    • The edge, approximately (¼”) was trimmed with Paper Snips following the Wave pattern in the paper.
  • Small Shape – Circle: (2” x 2”) Boho Blue cardstock scrap die-cut with the (1¼”) Stitched Circle die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Large Shape – Circle: (2¾” x 2¾”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
    • The Forget Me Not Floral image from the August 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Meaningful Flowers was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.
    • Using a Blending Brush, Lemon Lolly ink was added over the stamped embossed image and then polished with a soft paper towel to bring out the Flowers.
    • The Forget Me Nots were colored with Light Boho Blue and Lemon-Lime Twist Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I used the Brush Tip end for the finer detail.
    • The image was then die-cut using the (2⅛”) Stitched Circle die from the same Die set.
  • Sentiment Banner: Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, In My Thoughts, from the Poised Peony stamp set was stamped with Night of Navy ink and die-cut with the (3⅜” x 1”) Stitched Banner die from the same Die set.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble sketch.  The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals and several smaller retired Pearl Basic Jewels were added to the Flower centers and the smaller Circle shape.

  7. Great take on the challenges, Jolanda. I love that you kept the colors to a minimum. The green adds a wonderful pop against those blues. So glad you shared this with us at Festive Friday this week
