Country Flowers – My Best Friend

Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#692) challenge.  This week, Jaydee has selected the theme, Friendship and a nice selection of images on her Mood Board.

Never one to go empty handed to visit a friend, I selected to use the Country Flowers Bundle

My choices were influenced by both The Card Concept (#207) Inspiration Photo and Colors with Weathered Wood and a Bucket of Flowers and Color Throwdown (#795) with a very similar concept of Table Decoration Flowers and color choice.  To bring my ideas together, I chose the Tuesday Morning (#758) Sketch.

Here is the result:

COUNTRY FLOWERS BUNDLE – TIMELESS ARRANGEMENTS – PP692 – TCC207 – CTD795 – TMS758

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Split Background Panel: (4” x 2⅛”) and (4” x 3”) Misty Moonlight Weather Wood patterned pieces of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Shape – Circle: (3½” x 3½”) Basic White cardstock die-cut with the (3¼”) Eyelet Circle die from the Spotlight on Nature Dies set.
    • The sentiment, You are the best and the truncated sentiment My Friend from the retired Timeless Arrangements stamp set were stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.
  • Focal Image – Bucket of Flowers: Basic White cardstock scraps.
    • The Floral image from the Country Flowers stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Red Blooms – Light and Dark Real Red; Blue Bloom – Light Misty Moonlight and the Color Lifter; White Bloom – Light Smoky Slate and the Color Lifter; Succulent – Light Smoky Slate and Color Lifter; and Leaves – Light Smoky Slate.
    • The Floral image was die-cut with the coordinating die from the Country Flowers Dies set.
    • The Bucket was die-cut with the Bucket die, also from the Country Flowers Dies set, and colored with the Light and Darkk Real Red Stampin’ Blends Markers and Highlights added with the Color Lifter.
    • Using a Fine-Tipped Black Gel Pen, I added the edging details to the Bucket.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble sketch.  The Flowers were popped up with Dimensionals.

I am already to come to your Red, White and Blue Party…thanks for the invite, my friend!

  1. Pretty bouquet of flowers. The scalloped circle reminds me of a china plate. It all looks great against that weathered wood background.
