Penciled Pear – Just a Little Note

Hi!  Welcome to the weekend…hope it will be memorable.  We are heading out to the Gallabrae Scottish Festival tomorrow.  Always a nice time.

A quick card for you today.  Festive Friday (#160) Inspiration List; Color Throwdown (#794) Palette; and the Facebook Global Design Project (#446) Sketch.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3⅛” x 5⅛”) Smoky Slate cardstock.
• Vertical Strips: (3” x 5”) Suggested and replaced by the Gray and White Wooden Board patterned piece of paper from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper pack.
  • The sentiment, Just a Little Note, from the Penciled Pear stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with retired Pewter Embossing Powder.
• Cross Strip: (3¾” x 1”) Dark Wood patterned piece of paper, the reverse side, from the same paper pack.
• Focal Image(s) – Pears: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The large Pear image from the Penciled Pear stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Additionally, the image was also stamped onto the Silicone Craft Mat (for mirror image stamping) and the cardstock was pressed onto the ink for a reverse image.
  • Both Pears were colored with the Light Old Olive and Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Markers.
  • The Pears were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  A length of White Baker’s Twine was tied around the Cross Strip to add a small finishing detail. 

A really nice Guy card suitable for many purposes depending what is written inside.
