Sailing Home – Celebrating You

Welcome back!  Happy Tuesday…

Had a chance to sneak a card in to capture a deadline over at Just Us Girls (#727) for a summery Mood Board incorporating the spotlight Technique for Inkspirational (#316) and creating a clean and simple styled card for AAA Cards (#265) with a Birthday theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
  • The sentiment, Celebrating You Today, from the Beside Me stamp set was stamped with Pebbled Path ink.
• Focal Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Vey Vanilla cardstock.
  • A Mask was created with the (1¾” x 3⅛”) Rectangle die from the Deckled Rectangles Dies set and a piece of Copy Paper.
  • Using the Mask and Blending Brushes, Peach Pie ink was added in the central position with Petal Pink ink added above and below followed by Balmy Blue ink at top and bottom.
  • The larger Sailboat image from the retired Sailing Home stamp set was stamped with Pebbled Path ink.
  • The image was off-set and die-cut with additional Rectangle dies from the same Deckled Rectangles Dies set to be (2½” x 3⅞”).
• Spotlight: Very Vanilla cardstock scrap.
  • The Sailboat was stamped again and colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Sails – Light Peach Pie; Boat – Light Boho Blue; and Water – Light Balmy Blue.
  • A portion of the Sailboat was punched out with a (1”) Circle Punch.

The card was then assembled, and the Spotlight was popped up with Dimensionals.

A nice masculine clean and simple birthday card taking direct inspiration from the mood board.
