Born to Shine – Star of Light

Welcome back!  Several things going on early next week and I may not have time to create to meet a few deadlines, so…

As You See it (#323) has presented us with a recipe card.  You must use all of the ingredients when creating your project.  Check!  That said, I selected the current Alphabet (Letter D) for Dancing for my theme.

Here is the result:

BORN TO SHINE – STAR OF LIGHT – AYSI323 – Alphabet Letter D

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Swirling Star image from the retired Star of Light stamp set was stamped with Fresh Freesia ink.
    • The panel was dry-embossed with the So Swirly Embossing Folder.  The stamped Swirl was positioned so as to follow a swirl in the embossing folder.
  • Focal Image – Dancer: (2½” x 4¾”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The Dancer from the retired Born to Shine stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and the dress was colored with both the Light and Dark Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blends Markers.
    • The image was then die-cut with the (2⅛” x 4¼”) Stitched Elongated Hexagon die from the Nested Essentials Dies set.

The drama is in the dance. I created a pretty and delicate card using all the required elements that was intentionally left blank so it could be used for any occasion…birthday friendship, encouragement or just because.

Thanks for spending some more of your time with me today.  Cheers,  Jolanda!
