The young man next door had a spectacular year. He had the highest overall SAT score as well as the highest composite ACT score at his high school. That is amazing and well deserved. With graduation around the corner and University to look forward to…this card is for him.
Welcome to the newest Cardz 4 Guys (#347) challenge, this round asks for Stripes and/or Stars.

I tied this theme into the following challenges: If You Give A Crafter a Cookie (#192) You’re A Star; Heart’s Quest Celebration of Love (#7) Graduation Option; Christmas (or not) Bingo (#7) Letter N – Stripes, Monochrome, Tag and No Stamp; and selecting the Try a Sketch on Tuesday (#646) Layout.

Here is the result:

Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock.
- Background Panel: (5½” x 4¼”) Very Vanilla cardstock dry-embossed with the retired Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.
- Corner Pieces: (4¼” x 2¼”) Pebbled Path Striped patterned piece of paper from the retired Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper pack cut along one of the diagonal lines and trimmed to fit the corners.
- Star Tag: (3” x 3”) Map patterned piece of paper, also from the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series paper pack.
- The Star die from the retired Stars Framelits Dies set was positioned on the Map to line up with the Vector section.
- A (⅛”) Hole was punched into the top of the Star with a Handheld Punch to create a Tag.
- A (5”) length of retired Pebbled Path Textured Ribbon was cut and then cut again to approximately (⅛”) and threaded through the Hole.
- Sentiment: Pebbled Path cardstock scrap.
- The word, congrats, from the retired Sunshine Wishes Thinits Dies set was die-cut for the greeting.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch which I flipped to the horizontal position to accommodate the greeting.
Keeping the card clean and simple for a special fellow.
