Baby Blanket Wash Day

A color deadline…Color Dare (#598)

and a few new challenges that popped up today for inspiration: Time Out (#263) Alphabet Magnet Day and the Inspired By (#288) Clothesline theme and sketch which tied in nicely with the current Farm Quest (#51) Laundry theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3⅜” x 5½”) Parakeet Party cardstock (a retired color).
• Background Panel: (3½” x 5½”) Basic White cardstock dry-embossed with the Floral Fun Patterns Embossing Folder, an On-Line Exclusive product.
• Alphabet Cut-Out Panels: Basic White, Daffodil Delight, Parakeet Party and Pretty in Pink cardstock scraps.
  • Using the (⅞” x 2⅞”) Rectangle die from the retired Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies set, 3 white and one of each color was die-cut.
  • Using the Letters: A, B & C, from the Alphabet A La Mode Dies set, the Letters were die-cut from the colored panels.
  • The colored panels were adhered to the white panels and the Letters were fit back in for the placement of the A – triangle and the B – semi-circles.
  • A hole was punched in each panel with a (⅛”) Handheld Punch.
• Decoration – Baby Animals: Basic White cardstock scrap.
  • The Animal image from the retired Moon Baby stamp set was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and each animal was colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers.  Colors chosen: Bunny – Light Daffodil Delight and Pretty in Pink; Teddy Bear – Light Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake and Pretty in Pink; and Lamb – Light Pretty in Pink.
  • The Animals were fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
• Clothesline: Granny Apple Green (¼”) retired Organdy Ribbon was strung through connecting each of the colored panels.

All of the elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.  Both the Baby Animals and the Colored Panels were popped up with Dimensionals.

A super little card for a baby shower, baby welcoming or a small child’s birthday.
