Simply Zinnia – Hooray for Surprises

It is Tuesday and time to create for this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#459).  We have moved to the new Annual Catalog and first up is a card found on page 44. 

The Facebook Stampin’ Through the Catalog group is featuring the On-Line Exclusive stamp set – Simply Zinnia today and I chose to create a feminine celebration card for Stampin’ Up! Only (#351) with the colors from Cupcake Inspiration (#593) to make my card for this sketch, keeping it simple with just stamps, ink and paper and a few coloring tools.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Poppy Parade cardstock.
• Accent Mat: (3⅝” x 5”) Basic Black cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (3½” x 4⅞”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The Zinnia image was stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
  • Using Stampin’ Blends Markers, the image was colored.  Colors chosen: Light Pumpkin Pie, Poppy Parade and Melon Mambo for the Flowers and Light Granny Apple Green and Old Olive for the Stems and Leaves.
• Rectangle Panel: (3½” x 1”) Black and White patterned piece of scrap paper from the retired Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Using a Blending Brush, ink was added in an Ombre effect.  Top – Pumpkin Pie, Middle – Poppy Parade and Bottom – Melon Mambo.
• Sentiment Strip: (3½” x ½”) Poppy Parade cardstock scrap.
  • The sentiment, You are simply amazing, from the Hooray for Surprises stamp set was stamped with Versamark ink and heat-set with White Embossing Powder.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.

A great card to celebrate a mother, a great friend, or as a graduation congratulations.
