Sunshine & Smiles

How about one more…

Over at As You See It (#322), we are asked what our least used color is.  For me, except a little in the Autumn, I rarely use Pumpkin Pie.

I chose to create a clean and simple card with this color for CAS on Friday (#282) Sunshine and Addicted to CAS (#257) Smile.

Here is the result:

PAPER PUMPKIN: BOX OF SUNSHINE and SUNSHINE & SMILES – AYSI322 – COS282 – ATCAS257

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Basic White cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (3¾” x 5”) Basic White cardstock.
    • The sentiment, wishing you sunshine and smiles, from the February 2023 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Sunshine & Smiles stamp set was stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink.
  • Accent Squares: Pumpkin Pie cardstock die-cut with the (1½” x1½”) Stitched Square die from the Stylish Shapes Dies set.
  • Focal Image: (1⅞” x 1⅞”) Basic White cardstock scrap die-cut with the larger Stitched Square die from the same Dies set.
    • The Stylized Sun image from the June 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Box of Sunshine stamp set was also stamped with Pumpkin Pie ink.

Keeping the card CAS, all elements were adhered to the card base.  The Focal image and Accent Squares were popped up with Dimensionals. Not quite sure why I do not gravitate to this color…I guess there are just so many more that I like better.

A fun little friendship card.

  1. Lol, AND, by keeping it so CAS, you didn’t even have to use a lot of it!! What a brilliant strategy – wish I’d though of it, lol. So glad you tried my “anti-color” challenge, Jolanda, love your card! I’ve always loved that sun stamp! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!

  2. Snap on Pumpkin Pie! I love this though. It’s a design you could use with many colours. The beautiful CAS design keeps the PP to a minimum too. Thanks for joining in with us again at As You See It.

  3. I hear you – I rarely use orange outside of autumn and Halloween too Jolanda. Balancing it with the white and your super CAS design is a really great way to showcase it though. Thanks for embracing your least-used colour and sharing with us over at As You See It this week!

  4. Aside from Blackberry Bliss, Pumpkin Pie is my next least used colour in crafting, except, as you say, a little time in the fall! (Both of them together, with some black and green, would make a great Halloween card, though!) I really love your layout and minimalist design. That way you don’t have to be overcome by the orange! Thanks for filling in the blank for us at As You See It.
