Welcome back! A few of our plans got rained out today…so I am happy to be in the Studio.
Today, I started with the Atlantic Hearts (#575) Slim Line Sketch.
Inspiration for my design came from: Beautiful Blossoms (#16) and specifically the color palette, the Four Seasons (May) Mood Board for the delicacy of the flowers and The Flower Challenge (#91) for the coloring technique.
The Greeting was chosen to suit Inspired By (#287) and Shopping Our Stash (#520).
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (7” x 6” scored at 3½”) Pretty Peacock cardstock for a mini Slim Line card.
- Focal Panel: (3¼” x 5¾”) Basic White cardstock and cardstock scrap.
- Three Elements: Leaves, Butterfly and Flowers, all images from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set.
- The Leaves were stamped in the upper right corner with Pretty Peacock ink and colored with both the Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends Markers.
- The Flowers were stamped in the lower left corner. Peach Pie ink was added to the Flowers and Pretty Peacock ink was added to the Leaves prior to stamping. The image was also colored with Stampin’ Blends Markers. Colors chosen: Flowers – Light and Dark Peach Pie and Leaves – Light and Dark Soft Sea Foam.
- The Butterfly was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and colored with the retired Light and Medium Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and then fussy-cut with Paper Snips.
- Cross Strip Accent: (4”) Peach Pie Bordered Ribbon.
- Sentiment Panel: (3¼” x 1¼”) Soft Sea Foam patterned piece of paper from the retired 2019/2020 Subtles Collection Designer Series Paper pack.
- The sentiment, Happy Mother’s Day!, from the retired Wonderful Mother stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch. The Butterfly was popped up with Dimensionals and some Peach Pie, Shy Shamrock and Summer Splash 2024/2026 In-Color Shimmer Gems were added for a little bling.
