Welcome to Sunday and the newest Paper Players (#686) challenge. This week, Jaydee has given us the challenge to create a CAS (clean and simple) card with a Spring Flower theme. CAS…my favorite style! Let’s have some fun!
I combined this week’s challenge with the Color Hues (#85) Palette and the Try a Sketch on Tuesday (#645) Layout. I am also sharing this card with CAS on Friday (#281) for their Spring theme and Krafty Chicks (#712) for their CAS Anything Goes theme.
Here is the result:
Steps:
- Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Daffodil Delight cardstock.
- Background Panel: (4” x 5¼”) Basic White cardstock.
- An Arced Mask was created by cutting a piece of Copy Paper (4¼” x 5½”) free-hand with Paper Snips.
- The Copy Paper was cut again with another Arc measured approximately (⅜”).
- The lower Arc Mask was positioned over the cardstock as was the upper Arc Mask and held in place with repositionable tape so that there would be a gap.
- Using a Blending Brush and Daffodil Delight ink, the Arc was created.
- I chose the Splatter image from the Layering Leaves stamp set and added the Arc of Dots with Basic Gray ink.
- I chose the sentiment, life is better with you, from the Happy Labels stamp set and also stamped it with Basic Gray ink.
- Decoration – Flowers: Bubble Bath, Pretty in Pink, Daffodil Delight and Basic Gray cardstock scraps. Pieces were die-cut from both the Paper Florist Dies and the retired Apple Blossoms Dies sets.
- Flower Petals (Paper Florist) Bubble Bath and Pretty in Pink. The Petals were lightly colored with Pretty in Pink ink using a Sponge Dauber.
- Flower Centers (Paper Florist) Basic Gray.
- Flower Stamens (Apple Blossoms) Daffodil Delight.
- Leaves (Apple Blossoms) Basic Gray.
- The Flowers were then assembled.
All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch.
A sweet clean and simple floral card with a wee bit of texture, perfect for a special friend.

Jolanda, I’m so sorry that I had the name from my previous comment at the beginning of your comment. This comment was in fact meant for your card!
