Latte Love – Christmas Cheer

Welcome back!  It’s Monday – a brand-new week.  And I am heading for the Holidays with a number of Christmas themed challenges.

First up: Jingle Belles (#2408) celebrating Earth Day with the use of recycled item(s).  Next: Caffeinated Christmas Card (#28) to include Coffee related items.  Then: Krafty Chicks (#711) for their monthly Christmas Anything Goes.

Bringing them all together, I selected the Sketch Saturday (#748) Layout.

Here is the result:

LATTE LOVE BUNDLE – ITTY BITTY CHRISTMAS – JB2408 – CCCC28 – KCC711 – SS748

Steps:

  • Card Base: (8½” x 4¼” scored at 4¼”) Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  • Background Panel: (4” x 5¼) Wild Wheat cardstock dry-embossed with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder.
  • Accent Panel: (3” x 4¼”) Poinsettia patterned piece of paper from the retired Garden Walk Designer Series Paper pack.
  • Shape – Coffee Mugs: Poppy Parade cardstock scraps.
    • Using the Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker, just the edge of the Coffee Mug image from the Latte Love stamp set, an On-Line Exclusive product, was colored and then stamped.
    • The Coffee Mugs were die-cut with the coordinating Coffee Mug die from the Latte Love Dies set.
    • Recycled Item: From an old 2012 Paper Source Sales Brochure, three images were clipped and fussy-cut with Paper Snips to fit and were added to decorate the Coffee Mugs.
  • Sentiment Label: (2” x ⅜”) Basic White cardstock scrap.
    • The sentiment, Christmas Cheer, from the retired Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink and trimmed on the diagonal with Paper Snips.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch and the Coffee Mugs were popped up with Dimensionals.

The recycled clipped images lend a sense of whimsey to this Holiday card.

  1. Oh WOW this is brilliant on soooo many levels! FAB idea to recycle those images from the PS catalog and using them as the designs on the coffee mugs is perfection. Fabulous take on the sketch, as well! So happy you could join our creative celebration of Earth Day at Jingle Belles!
