By the Bay – Country Bouquet

Let’s play!!  It is Tuesday and time to create for this week’s Facebook Case-ing Tuesday (#453).  The original card can be found on page 21 of the Jan – Apr Mini Catalog. 

I opted to create a clean and simple, #simplestamping watercolor card with just Stamps, Ink and Paper.

I chose the Just Add Ink (#694) Color Palette and the Farm Quest (#48) Country Cottage Charm theme.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Balmy Blue cardstock.
• Accent Panel: (5½” x 2½”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• Focal Panel: (4½” x 3”) Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper.
  • The Cottage image from the retired By the Bay stamp set was stamped with Stazon Jet Black ink.
  • The image was water-colored in stages with the Wide-Tipped Water Painter Brush.
    • Balmy Blue wash across the Sky.
    • Smoky Slate wash across the Stone Wall and the Water.
    • Cajun Craze wash across the Buildings and Brick Wall.
    • Pretty Peacock wash across the Foliage and Water.
    • Fresh Freesia wash across the Lawn.
  • Details were added to the scene using the same colors and the Fine-Tipped Water Painter Brush.
• Sentiment: (2½” x ½”) Fluid 100 Watercolor paper scrap.
  • The paper was tinted slightly with a Balmy Blue water-color wash.
  • Once dry, the sentiment, Just wanted to say…, from the Country Bouquet stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink.

All elements were adhered to the card base to resemble the sketch with a slight deviation in the sentiment placement.  The Sentinment was popped up with Dimensionals.
