Spotlight on Nature – Leaf Collection Thank You Card

Design Team Time.  This round at Hand Stamped Sentiments (#434), we are using a lovely sketch.

I have selected the colors suggested by Inspire Create (#163) and am showcasing two new stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! that I received at our On-Stage convention this past weekend: Spotlight on Nature and Leaf Collection.

Here is the result:

Steps:

• Card Base: (8½” x 5½” scored at 4¼”) Pretty Peacock cardstock.
• Background Panel: (5¼” x 4”) Basic White cardstock.
  • The new Leaf Collection background stamp was inked with Lemon-Lime Twist ink and stamped.
  • Using the Dark Lemon-Lime Twist Stampin’ Blend Marker, the Leaves that corresponded with the shapes in the sketch were colored to be darker than the rest of the design.
  • Using the Light Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blend Marker, color was added to the Leaf Veins.
  • The sentiment, thanks, from the new Spotlight on Nature stamp set was stamped with Pretty Peacock ink.
  • The little Spotted image from the same stamp set was added for a little Butterfly dust.
• Focal Design – Butterflies: Basic White cardstock scraps.
  • The Butterfly image, also from the Spotlight on Nature stamp set was stamped with Fresh Freesia ink.
  • One Butterfly was stamped onto the Silicone Craft Sheet and the cardstock was pressed onto it for a mirror/reversed image.
  • The Butterfly Bodies were darkened with the Light Fresh Freesia Stampin’ Blend Marker and the Wings were colored with Clear Wink of Stella® Glitter Brush.
  • Each Butterfly was fussy-cut with Paper Snips.

The Background Panel was adhered to the card base and the Butterflies were popped up with Dimensionals.

It is so much fun to play with new stamp sets.  I hope you have enjoyed this little sneak peek of things to come in the new Annual Catalog.
